Blend Bridge for MODO - End User Licence Agreement
Version 1.0, 2026-10-30. © 2026 RUMBUG.
1. ABOUT THIS AGREEMENT
1.1 This agreement is between you and RUMBUG ("we", "us"), the trading name of Alex Hindle, a sole trader, support@rumbug.studio. It sets out how you may use Blend Bridge for MODO (the "Software"). The Software is sold through Gumroad, which acts as merchant of record (it takes your payment and handles sales tax); the licence to use the Software comes from us, under this agreement.
1.2 Please read it before you buy. By buying, installing or using the Software you agree to it. If you don't agree, don't install it, and ask for a refund (section 9).
1.3 If you buy on behalf of a company or other organisation, "you" means that organisation, and you confirm you may bind it. Section 3.3 explains how its licences are assigned to people.
1.4 You may be a consumer (buying mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession) or a business customer. Some sections apply differently to each; they say so.
2. DEFINITIONS
- Software: the Blend Bridge for MODO kit for Foundry's MODO, including its code, data files, documentation and any updates we provide, but not the Third-Party Components.
- Licensed User: the one individual person to whom a licence is assigned. If an individual buys for themselves, that is the buyer.
- Licence Key: the key Gumroad issues for your purchase.
- Third-Party Components: the software by others that is included in the Software and listed in its LICENSES folder, each under its own licence.
- Your Content: your scenes, .blend files, renders, images and other material you make or open with the Software.
3. YOUR LICENCE
3.1 Grant. When you have paid, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for the Licensed User to install and use the Software, for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial, for as long as this agreement lasts.
3.2 Per person, any computer. The licence is for one person. The Licensed User may install the Software on any computers they use (for example a workstation, a laptop and a home computer), but only the Licensed User may use it.
3.3 Organisations. An organisation buys one licence for each person who uses the Software, and assigns each licence to one named person. It may move a licence to another person when the first stops using the Software (for example when they leave), but not to share one licence among several people or to rotate it between shifts. Keep a record of who holds each licence and give it to us if we ask.
3.4 Updates. You can download updates from your Gumroad library. Updates for version 1.x are included in the price.
3.5 Licence Key. The Software may ask for your Licence Key and check it with Gumroad from time to time (section 8). Keep your key to yourself.
3.6 Modo. The Software is an add-on for Foundry's Modo 17.1. You need your own licence for Modo; the Software doesn't include one, and your use of Modo is governed by Foundry's terms.
4. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO
4.1 Except as this agreement or the law allows, you must not:
- (a) copy the Software, except to install it as section 3 allows and to keep backup copies;
- (b) sell, rent, lend, share, sublicense or otherwise give the Software or your Licence Key to anyone else, or put the Software where others can download it;
- (c) let anyone other than the Licensed User use it, or offer it to others as a service (for example a hosted or cloud service);
- (d) modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, or make works based on it, except to the extent the law allows this and it cannot be excluded (in the UK, sections 50A to 50C and 296A of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988) or a Third-Party Component's own licence allows it (section 5);
- (e) remove or change any copyright, trademark or licence notice in the Software;
- (f) get round any licence check (this doesn't stop you working offline; see section 8);
- (g) use the Software in breach of export control or sanctions laws (section 12).
5. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
5.1 The Software includes Third-Party Components, listed with their licences in the LICENSES folder. Your use of each is governed by its own licence, which this agreement does not change. Nothing in this agreement restricts any right you have under the licence of a Third-Party Component.
6. YOUR CONTENT
6.1 Your Content is yours. We claim no rights in it, and you may use what you make with the Software for any purpose, including commercially.
6.2 You are responsible for having the rights to the content you open, save or send us.
6.3 Keep backups. Blend Bridge for MODO writes into .blend files and keeps the previous version as a .blend1; it checks every save. Even so, keep your own backups of files that matter.
7. SUPPORT
7.1 We provide help by email and through support.rumbug.studio, on a reasonable-efforts basis, during UK working days. We don't promise response times.
7.2 If you send us a support report or a scene, our privacy notice explains how we handle it: https://support.rumbug.studio/legal/privacy
8. LICENCE AND UPDATE CHECKS
8.1 The Software may check once a day whether a newer version exists, by downloading a small file from our website. That check sends nothing about you beyond what any web request does (your IP address); you can turn it off.
8.2 The Software may check your Licence Key with Gumroad when you enter it and then from time to time, sending the key and the product's identifier, nothing else. The Software never stops working because it is offline or a check cannot be made. If Gumroad tells us a key has been refunded, charged back or disabled, the Software may say so in MODO's Event Log and stop offering updates.
9. REFUNDS AND YOUR RIGHTS
9.1 14-day refund. You can have a full refund for any reason within 14 days of buying; this is also your legal right to cancel if you are a consumer. See our refund policy: https://support.rumbug.studio/legal/refunds. Gumroad may also issue refunds under its own terms.
9.2 Consumers. If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights: digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn't, you can ask us to repair or replace it, and if we can't, to reduce the price or give you money back. If faulty digital content we supplied damages your device or other digital content, and that's because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation. Nothing in this agreement affects these rights. Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) can tell you more.
9.3 Business customers. We promise that, for 90 days from purchase, the Software will perform materially as its documentation describes on a supported setup. If it doesn't and we can't fix it, we will refund the price. Apart from that and anything the law doesn't allow us to exclude, the Software is provided "as is", and we exclude all other warranties and conditions, express or implied, including satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose.
10. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU
10.1 Nothing in this agreement limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not let us limit or exclude.
10.2 Consumers. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this agreement or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. We supply the Software for domestic and private use; if you use it for business purposes, section 10.3 applies to that use.
10.3 Business customers. We are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, for loss or corruption of data (please keep backups), or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability under or in connection with this agreement is limited to the greater of the price you paid for the licence and £100.
11. ENDING THIS AGREEMENT
11.1 You may end this agreement at any time by deleting the Software.
11.2 If you seriously break this agreement (for example by sharing the Software or your Licence Key), we may end it by telling you in writing (email is enough), and we may disable your Licence Key. If the breach can be put right, we will first give you 14 days to put it right.
11.3 A refund (section 9) ends your licence for that purchase.
11.4 When the agreement ends, you must stop using the Software and delete it. Sections 4, 6, 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply. Your Content stays yours.
12. EXPORT CONTROL AND SANCTIONS
You must not use, export or re-export the Software in breach of UK, US or other applicable export control or sanctions laws, including to any country, person or end use those laws prohibit.
13. GENERAL
13.1 Trademarks. Blender is a registered trademark of the Blender Foundation. Modo is a registered trademark of The Foundry Visionmongers Ltd. Blend Bridge for MODO is an independent product by RUMBUG, not made, endorsed or supported by the Blender Foundation or Foundry.
13.2 Changes. We may update this agreement for new versions of the Software; the version that comes with the version you install applies to it. We won't change the terms for a version you already have to your disadvantage.
13.3 Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under this agreement except as section 3.3 allows. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over the Software, and we'll tell you if we do; your rights won't be reduced.
13.4 Nobody else has rights under this agreement (Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999).
13.5 If a court finds part of this agreement invalid, the rest stays in force.
13.6 Entire agreement. This agreement, our refund policy and the licences in the LICENSES folder are the whole agreement about the Software. If you are a consumer, this doesn't affect anything we told you about the Software before you bought it that you relied on.
13.7 Law and courts. The law of England and Wales applies. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there, and if you live elsewhere you keep the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer laws. Business customers agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13.8 Contact: support@rumbug.studio. We'll give you a postal address for legal notices on request.
